Pinholing (craters) in compounds

With one of the wettest years on record now passed, and prediction of more on the way, it should come as no surprise that complaints for moisture related issues are dominating. Mould and mildew growth, ceiling distortion, pinholes (cratering), paint issues etc. All of the above have their own story, however, the least understood appears to be pinholes in jointed surfaces.
